Spring Road Trip

This spring, we kicked off the season with a drive down the Eastern Shore, Chasing warm weather and a little space to reset.
After a few months without traveling, we were more than ready.
There’s something about that first trip that always brings fresh perspective.
A chance to test, tweak, and find what fits the way we want to travel now.
not just how we did it before.

The Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA was the perfect campsite for our spring test.
Its wide layout offered well-maintained, level campsites that welcomed every type of rig.

We set up our gear.
But we didn’t expect that a certain piece would end up being claimed by Louie—not us.
We originally picked up the Cliq Chair set for quick setups on beaches and festival grounds.
The chairs are compact, sturdy, and easy to stash.
They checked all the boxes for tidy travel.
But Louie had other plans.
From the moment we set it up overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, it became his chair.
The perfect front-row seat for every bird, boat, and breeze that passed by.

Evenings at the KOA felt especially memorable.
We spent the night swapping stories with fellow travelers.
Louie, as usual, took his job as Lead of Campsite Morale very seriously.
There was no shortage of kids eager to cuddle him and declare they didn't want to let him go.
Wherever we stop, Louie reminds us that connection—like tidy travel—often starts with the simplest steps.

🎶 “There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night and if you go, no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone.” — The Grateful Dead, “Ripple” (1970)
